We Don’t Know Enough About Smiling

We were always told that our attitude towards a situation ,the way we look at things would affect the outcome of that actions or your behaviors, but what if I said your behaviors can also change your attitude. You might have heard about smiling when you don’t feel like it would ultimately make you happier, well I am here to say that it is not a myth and it actually can change your mood. Many people would agree with you if you told them smiling even faking it is helpful for you but do we really know the importance of smiling? Here are five more facts from many:

1.It reduces blood pressure.
When you are under stress our blood pressure tends to rise and it is shown that people constantly stressing can have high blood pressure related illnesses and smiling is the best precaution you can take.
2.It can make your immunity stronger.
Laughing can boost immune cells and white blood cells fighting with infections and viruses improving your resistance to them.
3.It increases your productivity.
I have mentioned about stresses harms lot in this text but stress can also degrade your energy making you less productive, helping you to look at things in a bigger picture and process things a lot easier.
4.It helps with pain reliefs.
You might think this is a superstition but it is scientifically proven that a good laugh can relief some body aches and pains .
5.Smiling makes you more approachable.
Walking on the street have you ever tried asking a location to a frowning person, instead you chose a smiling one because they looked more comforting and easygoing and that it why you on interviews and other applications you should smile more. Not only it makes you look easy to communicate but also you will look more confident.

If you are not advocate of eating a piece of chocolate every time you feel down just try forcing a smile and it will do just as good of a job with helping your serotonin levels!
Smiling is contagious so next time you are in a stressful environment try smiling to people and you will get one in return.

“Happiness is a work ethic. It’s something that requires our brains to train just like an athlete has to train.”

“If you smile often enough, you end up rewiring your brain to make positive patterns more often than it does negative ones.”
Shawn Achor in his book The Happiness Advantage
